Meet The Team
Some of us survived the system. Some of us are simply moved to change it. What unites our team is relentless commitment to the mission—lived experience, professional expertise, and the belief that transformation is possible.

OLIVIA ESPINOSA
Administration
Olivia manages the administrative operations of Beat The Streets, including grant documentation, volunteer coordination, organizational communications, and day-to-day logistics. Her background in community organizing and content creation brings both operational discipline and creative engagement to the team.

MICHAEL X MENDEZ
Credit Specialist
Michael leads the credit building and repair services offered through Inside Hustle Network in partnership with Beat The Streets. He works directly with program participants on credit education, tradeline strategy, and building financial foundations for successful reentry. His technical expertise in credit systems helps participants move from financial exclusion to economic sovereignty.

MARK PEREZ
Program Coordinator
Mark coordinates Beat The Streets programs and operations, connecting transformation curriculum to community resources. He manages facility partnerships, Ambassador development, and program delivery across multiple sites. He is committed to building pathways for justice-impacted individuals and families in communities that have been systematically excluded from traditional opportunities.
Ambassadors
Our Ambassadors are peer facilitators who lead transformation
from the inside. They've completed the curriculum, trained as
facilitators, and now guide others through the same journey.
These are the leaders making the movement work.

BRANDON MILLER
Ambassador — G.I.F.T.
McConnell Unit, TDCJ
Brandon created G.I.F.T. (Gaining Internal Freedom Through Transformation), the 13-week intensive program for identity reconstruction and deep personal transformation.
Written while facing serious charges, G.I.F.T. emerged from Brandon's own journey. Now as an Ambassador at McConnell Unit, he facilitates the program he created—guiding others through the same tools that transformed him: the S.T.O.P. protocol, the Trust Formula, and the CLEAR Framework.
"G.I.F.T. is what I wish someone had given me when I was first locked up. It's the conversation I needed but never got. Now I get to have that conversation with others."
Program: G.I.F.T. (13 weeks) Role: Curriculum Author & Ambassador

KHAM SUN
Ambassador — Seeds of Success McConnell Unit, TDCJ
Kham Sun authored "How to Beat the Streets: Seeds of Success," the foundational 9-week program that serves as the entry point to the Beat The Streets curriculum library.
Now serving as an Ambassador at McConnell Unit, Kham Sun facilitates Seeds of Success study groups, guiding participants through the same transformation framework he created.
"I wrote this book for the person I used to be—the one who knew he needed to change but didn't know how. Now I get to walk others through it."
Program: Seeds of Success (9 weeks) Role: Curriculum Author & Ambassador

JOSE VERAS
Ambassador — Spanish Language Initiative
McConnell Unit, TDCJ
Jose is leading our Spanish language expansion, translating Beat The Streets curriculum to reach Spanish-speaking populations inside correctional facilities across Texas and beyond.
As a bilingual Ambassador, Jose bridges a critical gap— ensuring that transformation isn't limited by language barriers. His translation work will open our programs to thousands of Spanish-speaking individuals who would otherwise be excluded.
"Transformation shouldn't have a language barrier. I'm making sure our people—todos—can access these blueprints. This work matters."
Program: Spanish Translation Initiative Role: Ambassador & Translator
Languages: English & Spanish

MAHDI
Curriculum Author — Critical Game Theory
Mahdi wrote Critical Game Theory, a 12-chapter systemic analysis that applies strategic frameworks to understanding underground economies and transitioning to legitimate enterprise.
The program is intellectually rigorous—designed for participants who want to understand the systems that trapped them and redirect their strategic intelligence toward legal wealth-building.
"The same mind that built an empire in the streets can build an empire in the light. You just need someone to show you the game board is bigger than you thought."
Program: Critical Game Theory (12 chapters) Role: Curriculum Author
